Judge who sentenced Shahabuddin to life imprisonment transferred from Siwan

The Additional District and Sessions judge (ADJ) Ajay Kumar Shrivastava, who sentenced Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Mohammad Shahabuddin to life imprisonment for his involvement in the murder of two brothers, has been transferred from Siwan. According to the sources, Shrivastava in a letter written to the High Court had said that he was feeling unsafe in Siwan after Shahabuddin's release. Acting upon Shrivastava's letter, the High Court on September 9 issued a notification for his transfer to Patna.
