6.8 quake jolts Myanmar; tremors felt in Bengal, Bihar, Assam in India

Hours after Italy was rocked by a major earthquake of 6.1 on the Richter scale on Wednesday morning, an earthquake measuring 6.8 struck Myanmar. Tremors were also felt in Bengal, Bihar and Assam in India.

According to reports, the quake's epicenter was 143 km west of the city Meiktila at a depth of 58 km. It was quite a strong earthquake that shook buildings across the region.
