Asaram got his taste of prison after spending 2 nights at the Jodhpur Jail. His hopes of avoiding another night in jail were dashed.
Asaram Bapu's bail plea hearing is scheduled to continue today. Even while his defence team gears up to fight the case. The self-styled Godman is likely to face harsher punishment as the law catches on him.
Had the assault occurred prior to March, when the stricter Rape law came into effect, Asaram's sentence, if pronounced guilty, would have been less severe. The new act easily increases his possible sentence by around five years.
