News X: Dwindling rupee may add to woes of Govt to implement Food Bill

Sonia's dream project has cleared the first step. The historic 1.5 lakh crore food bill which aims to give 70% Indians the right to food was passed by the lower house of Parliament on Monday night this despite opposition claiming that it's vote security and not food security.

The bill will be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday and if approved will be sent to the President for final approval to be made a law.

However, the government's altruistic bill has many lacunas that need to be filled though the government quotes 1.5 lakh crore rupees as its estimated cost, there's no fair estimate on the costs it will incur for implementation and distribution. There are no proper transport and infrastructure facilities made available for storage and distribution of food grains.
