Karnataka: Woman in Tarihal Village uses a thin rope to clamber 50ft down dry well to fetch water

Clambering down a 50ft well, a saree-clad woman fetches water for her drought stricken village. Footage of the incident shows the woman propelling herself towards the base of the well in Tarihal, Karnataka- barefoot, using nothing but a thin rope attached to a metal beam. Women in the Indian village have to go extreme lengths to get water after a severe drought hit the area this year, drying up four other wells and a lake.
