Acid Attack: Farm labourer threw Acid on Class XI girl in West Bengal

Breaking News coming in Acid attack in West Bengal. Aggrieved at being spurned by his girl friend, a farm labourer in Tamluk in East Midnapore district of West Bengal, allegedly threw acid on the face of a Class XI girl while she was asleep in her home.
The girl's four year old niece, who was sleeping next to her, also suffered burn injuries. Both of them have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. Police sources say the accused, who is in his early twenties, had proposed to the 18-year-old girl five months back but she had rebuffed his advances.
