NewsX: The third phase of panchayat polls in bengal is underway in three districts of North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Howrah. About 99 lakh voters are likely to exercise their franchise in the shadow of violence.
About 99 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in close to 12, 656 booths in the three districts in this round. Besides that 50 thousand security personnel including 15 thousand central paratroopers and rest are from the state armed police force.
