PM Narendra Modi attacks Lalu Prasad Yadav over ‘beef eating’ comment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday waded into the debate over beef in the Bihar assembly elections, accusing Lalu Prasad of insulting Yadavs for saying that they too, eat meat. Those hoping for a statement from the PM on the lynching of a man in Greater Noida’s Dadri for allegedly consuming beef were disappointed: Modi chose to hammer home a very specific electoral point without addressing the larger debate about beef consumption.
