Tainted godman Asaram and his son Narayan Sai were earning Rs 500 crore in interest by lending huge amount of money to their supporters in Surat, Bhopal, Ahmedabad and Pune.

This was revealed by the investigation wing of the income tax department after its officials recovered scores of paper chits during the nation-wide search and survey operation carried out at around 70 locations, which concluded on Monday.
