West Bengal: 13-year-old girl raped, murdered

NewsX: A 13-year-old schoolgirl was gang-raped and murdered in West Bengal on Monday and her body was found lying in a bamboo grove. The attack took place in Nadia district, about 150 km from Kolkata. The Class 7 student was apparently returning from school when rains forced her to take shelter in a railway shed. A boy from the neighbourhood had offered to share his umbrella with her and walked her home. Yesterday, a couple of farmers spotted her body in the grove. One person has been arrested.
