NewsX: In a Major setback for Mamata Banerjee - The Kolkata High Court today upheld the supremacy of the state election commission. The HC asked the state Government to comply with State Election Commission Directive to provide adequate security for the Panchayat Elections. Court also directed the state govt to comply with the security deployment sought by the commission during the period of filing nominations. Mamata government has opposed use of central paramilitary forces during the elections, saying that state police was enough for providing security.
