NewsX: Heads have rolled in the Chhattisgarh police administration after the naxal massacre of Congress Leaders. Bastar SP, Mayank Shrivastav has been suspended, while the Bastar range Inspector, General of Police Himanshu Gupta has been shunted out.

Chhattisgarh government has already ordered a judicial probe into the incident. The state government has come under criticism for security lapses that had led to the incident, something acknowledged by Chief Minister Raman Singh.

According to the security protocol to be followed in Left Wing Extremism-hit districts of Chhattisgarh, the SP and other senior officers must remain on duty during VIP visits, and the area must be sanitised well in advance.

However, when the Congress's yatra reached Sukma on Saturday, SP Abhishek Shandilya was away on an anti-Maoist operation in the interior forests of the district, with no communication network.
