NewsX: Family members say that Nimesh Commission, which was formed by the state government to examine the cases lodged against Khalid and another accused Tariq Qasmi, had in its report found discrepancies in their arrests. This, family feels, would have helped in release of Khalid and landed former top cops in trouble. Family members allege that Khalid was 'eliminated' to save 'some people' responsible for his arrest.
The FIR was lodged after Khalid's body was handed over to the family. A panel of government doctors conducted the post mortem, which was also video graphed. The report has not been made public as yet. The body has been taken to native village in Jaunpur for burial. Some protests were also witnessed over death. People alleged that Muslims youth are being falsely implicated in terror acts and killed.
