News X: 1984 sikh riots: CBI demands death penalty for 3 convicts

News X: In the 1984 anti-sikh riots case, 3 convicts namely Balwan Khokkar, Girdhari Lal and Captain Bhagmal have been given life sentence. The CBI had demanded death penalty for the trio. The CBI had called it a rarest of rare case and a planned communal riot. According to the CBI, the convicts influenced Police action and compelled the Police officials to act on their behalf back in 1984.
