Radioactive leak detected at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi

A radioactive leak was detected in the cargo area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Friday morning. According to initial reports, the radioactive leak was detected from a container carrying nuclear medicine, which had arrived here from a Turkish airline flight. As the news spread, anti-sabotage teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and some experts from the Atomic Energy Commission were immediately rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, the security officials deployed at the airport also cordoned off the entire area to avoid any panic and inconvenience to the passengers there. The situation is said to be fully under control now and there is no health scare.
