JD(U) fears loss of minority votes if they back Modi as PM

The JDU is unhappy at Narendra Modi's projection as the BJP's likely PM candidate. The JDU has clarified that it would not accept any person that lacks secular image as the PM candidate. It has decided to finally ask the BJP to clear cobwebs on this front. The JDU national executive that is likely to meet on 13 and 14 this weekend. It is likely to ask the BJP to clarify its stand on Modi. Although Modi has been tossed around as the party's likely PM candidate, the BJP has not made it formal for the fear of offending allies. JD-U Sources say the Bihar Chief Minister and JDU stalwart Nitish Kumar has told the BJP several times that the JDU would walk out of the NDA if Modi was elevated to this position.
