Yadav Singh, who was the chief engineer of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Development Authority till Rs 12 crore in cash was found in his SUV a few days back, did not even have an engineering degree for most of his career.
He joined Noida Authority in 1980 as a junior engineer (JE). He was promoted to the post of assistant project engineer in 1985. And then to project engineer (PE) in 1995. When the SP government came to office in 2012, he was suspended for his alleged involvement in a Rs 954-crore scam, but was reinstated in 2013. In November this year, he was made the chief engineer of all three authorities: Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.
Barely 15 days after his elevation, the income-tax department raided his house and companies linked to him and unearthed Rs 12 crore in an SUV, and 2 kg of diamond-studded gold jewellery worth crores and Rs 12 lakh in cash from his sprawling Sector 51 bungalow in Noida.
