India denies interference in internal affairs of Maldives. The Minister of External Affairs Mr. Salman Khurshid had a telephonic discussion with the Foreign Minister of Maldives yesterday. The development comes after Maldives government hit out at India, saying in its statement about Nasheed, who's hiding in the mission to escape arrest, that India was "undermining Maldives's democratic institutions." India says that it has been working with the Government and other relevant authorities in Maldives to strengthen the democratic framework in that country without any interference.
