No IT notice was served to Gadkari, says BJP

IT department sources are refuting the BJP statement that party chief didn't get any notice on the alleged tax evasion by his Purti group of companies. I-T department officials say that Gadkari was served a summons on January 4th at his Nagpur office to appear before them on January 11th. It was received by a person identified as the personal assistant of the BJP chief. The sources said that Gadkari was asked to explain the allegations of the money trail linked to some of the "shell companies" allegedly linked to the Purti Group.
