Submit stage wise plan for cleaning Ganga: Supreme Court to government

The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to submit a PowerPoint presentation on a stage wise plan for cleaning the river Ganga.
Yesterday, the Narendra Modi government had told the top court that it is committed to clean the holy river, which was its pre-poll promise, and steps would be taken to prevent its pollution.
In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the Centre had said a consortium of IIT professionals have been entrusted with the task of finalising holistic Ganga River Basin Management and it will submit their report by the end of December this year.
