The Jharkhand Police is now probing a suspected terror link of Ranjit Kohli alias Raqibul Hassan Khan, who has been accused of forcing his wife, shooter Tara Shahdeo, to convert to Islam in a so-called ‘love jihad’ case.

Meanwhile, Gwalior SSP Prabhat Kumar said on the Tara Sahadeo case, "All his documents have Ranjit Singh Kohli mentioned as his official name; he is just personally inclined to Islam."

Tara Shahdeo filed an FIR on August 19, saying she was confined to a flat and beaten up by her husband after their wedding last month. Kohli and his mother Kauser Perween, alias Kaushal Rani, were arrested on Tuesday in Delhi after police managed to trace his cellphone. He was flown to Ranchi last evening on a three-day transit remand.

A report published in Hindustan Times quoted Delhi Police officials as saying that Kohli was given shelter in the capital by an additional sessions judge (ASJ) posted in Ranchi.
