Pak targets LoC posts, second ceasefire violation in 48 hours

Pakistani troops continued unprovoked firing on forward Indian positions along the Line of Control in Jammu Kashmir for the second day on Sunday.

Defence ministry spokesman Lt Col Maneesh Mehta said that unprovoked small arms and automatic weapon fire from across the border started around 11.30 am and it was continuing till reports last came in the afternoon. The Indian Army also retaliated with equal calibre weapons, he said, adding that there was no damage or casualty on the Indian side.

It was the second incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Jammu region during the last 48 hours. On Saturday, they had targeted forward Indian positions with small and automatic weapons fire in Bhimber Gali area of Rajouri district.
