Farmers blame RIL for cheating off their lands - NewsX

Trouble is fast brewing at the Reliance Industries Coal bed Methane production site in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Farmers and tribals part of Hadha village are up in arms against Reliance industries alleging that they have been cheated off their lands. While Reliance officials have claimed that the problem has its source in middlemen who were instigating the farmers, the protestors who resorted to pelting stones on Reliance vehicles claim that they were given a mere Rs.45,000 for their lands taken on lease for 30 long years. They have also alleged that Reliance is yet to keep its promise of providing jobs to least a member of each family from whom the land has been taken.
