Phoolan Devi murder case: Delhi court convicts Sher Singh Rana, acquits other accused

A trial court in Delhi on Friday convicted Sher Singh Rana in the 2001 murder case of dacoit-turned-politician Phoolan Devi. The court, however, acquitted all 11 others in the case.

Rana has been held guilty under various provision of IPC for offences including murder and attempt to murder.

The court, however, acquitted him of the charges of perjury, criminal conspiracy and for offences under the Arms Act.

The court will now hear arguments on quantum against Rana on August 12.
