Shankaracharya miffed with Modi’s Shirdi visit

Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand, who is already facing flak and legal charges over his comments against Sai Baba, has stirred another controversy. Sankaracharya, who hit the headlines recently for expressing his aversions to Sai worship, has publicly expressed his anguish over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Shirdi where he will offer prayers to the spiritual guru. Modi has been invited by a Shiv Sena MP to Shirdi to offer prayers at the Sai shrine after the ongoing Parliament session. And as per reports, the Prime Minister has accepted the invite and is likely to embark on the journey. This has apparently got on the nerves of Sankaracharya.
