Ink thrown on Maharashtra Minister for Cooperatives Harshvardhan Patil, suffers eye injury

Senior Congress leader and Maharashtra Minister for Cooperatives Harshvardhan Patil on Friday suffered an eye injury when some protesting members of Dhangar community threw ink on him.

The Dhangar community has been protesting for the last few weeks, demanding reservation.

The incident took place in Bhigvane region of Indapur constituency, where Patil had come to attend a program. He was injured in his left eye, and he was rushed to Pune from Baramati for treatment.

The police have detained three people, and the situation in the area is still tense.

Speaking to a news channel, Patil said, “I had gone to attend a function in Bhigvane and while I got into my car after the function, four-five youths came towards me and threw a complete bottle of the ink on me and in that my left eye has been injured.”

Meanwhile, after taking first-aid in Baramati Patil has asked Congress party workers to forget the incident and appealed them not to take law and order in hands.
