A school cab driver has been charged with repeated sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl while ferrying her to and from a school in Defence Colony, south Delhi. The abuse came to light after the victim shared her trauma with her parents when pressed to reveal why she didn't want to go to school.

The parents approached the police on Monday night after which an FIR was registered. Deputy commissioner of police (southeast) P Karunakaran said the accused — Vipin Kumar, 35, a resident of Govindpuri in southeast Delhi — had been arrested within three hours. He had been privately hired by parents to transport kids to school and back.
