FB post case: Internal police enquiry finds 3 policemen guilty - NewsX

An internal police inquiry into the arrest of three girls in Palghar in Thane over comments posted on Facebook against the Mumbai shutdown during Bal Thackeray's funeral has found three policemen in the case guilty of dereliction of duty and invoking wrong sections of law. The report also recommends appropriate action against the three policemen. The report prepared by IG Konkan Range Sukhwinder Singh says that the cops in questions had no business invoking the harsh sections of 292 (A) and 505 (2) of the IPC on the two girls and that they showed no inclination on going after the Shiv Sainik goons who had ransacked a clinic belonging to one of the girl's uncle.
