It is a day of relief for Rahul Gandhi after years of lull, with Supreme Court giving him a clean chit on the 2006 gang rape allegation , Congress general secretary will now breathe easy. The apex court has termed the charges of rape and kidnapping "fake with not an iota of evidence" backing them. Dismissing the petitions against Rahul Gandhi, Supreme Court has now directed CBI to probe the role of top Samajwadi Party leadership over allegations of instigating the petitioners. The petitioner has now been directed to pay Rs 5 lakh to Rahul and Rs 5 lakh to the girl and her parents as compensation.
