Haryana: Dalit girl gangraped in Jind, kills self - NewsX

The latest in the tragic cases of growing rape in Haryana is that of a teenaged Dalit girl. The hapless girl burnt herself to death soon after she had been raped by two youths in Jind District. In a statement to the police before dying, Sharmila has said that she was raped for more than an hour by her neighbour Pradeep and his friend Naveen, while his sister-in-law Meenu and another friend Sanjeev-kept guard. Naveen, Meenu and Sanjeev have been arrested, while the main accused Pradeep is still at large. Before succumbing to her injuries the victim gave a statement to the police.
