Indian Air Force turns 80 - NewsX
The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 80th birthday today. Military pomp and ceremony will mark the Air Force Day parade at the Hindon airbase on the outskirts of Delhi. The Air Force will line up the pick of its fleet to display its war waging potential. This display of military might coincides with the 50th anniversary of India's humiliation at the hands of China in the 1962 War. The Air Force Chief NAK Browne has already created a flutter... by blaming India's defeat on the decision of the Jawaharlal Nehru Government....not to use the Indian Air Force against the Chinese. This is the first time that India's military leadership has so openly and directly criticised the political leadership for war-time failure.
