As a result, the state tops the list of cadaver organ donations that make a huge difference to the living. AP Hithendran, 15 year old son of Doctor S.Ashokan met with an accident.He was announced brain dead. Dr. S Ashokan and his family decided to donate Hithendran's organs were donated on 23rd of Sep 2008. His heart was given to Abhirami of Bangalore who was suffering from idiopathic cardio myopathy and she was in her last days as the stem cell therapy failed. His liver was given to a Lady from Kerala. The kidneys were giving to two people in Chennai and his eyes were given to Shankar Netralaya Hospital, a specialty eye hospital.
