Prime Minister Narendra Modi today raised cross-border terror and the 26/11 trial as he met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in talks that were seen as a step towards easing tension between the two countries.

Mr Modi, who took oath yesterday, told Mr Sharif that the trial in Pakistan of those accused in the Mumbai terror attacks was "too slow" and must be expedited.

New Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj was with Mr Modi for his bilateral interactions with Mr Sharif and other South Asian leaders who witnessed his inauguration at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
