Jammu: Ceasefire violation by Pak, BSF jawan injured - NewsX

In fifth incident of ceasefire violence within a week, a BSF jawan was today injured after Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts along the Indo-Pak border in Arnia sector of Jammu district. "There was a cross border heavy firing on Indian posts of Pindi and Pital along International Border (IB) in Arnia sector of Jammu district around 1630 hours today," Deputy Inspector General (DIG), BSF, J S Oberoi, told PTI. The heavy firing continued for over two hours and is intermittently going on, Oberoi said adding one BSF jawan was injured in the firing and has been hospitalised. He is injured but his condition is stable, the DIG said. BSF troops, guarding the borderline with Pakistan, effectively replied to the Pakistan firing, he said adding it is another ceasefire violation.
