Vice-Presidential poll: Sonia Gandhi to host lunch for allies - NewsX

A day ahead of the Vice Presidential election, Sonia Gandhi will host a lunch for UPA MPs. The lunch is a final bid by the UPA Chairperson to garner support for a second term for Hamid Ansari. He is expected to get support of around 500 votes out of the total 790 votes of from the Electoral College. The lunch would add to the bonhomie among the alliance partners and the parties supporting it from outside, with the monsoon session of Parliament starting this week.
