Vikas Gowda has qualified for the final of the men's discus throw event. Gowda recorded a distance of 65.20 metres in his second throw to qualify for the medal round. Vikas recorded 63.52 in his first throw, but came back strongly with a 65.20 in his second attempt to keep India's hopes of a medal in athletics alive in these games.
