The Congress-NCP standoff appears headed towards a resolution on Wednesday after the NCP said that it had not served any ultimatum to the Congress. Reports say that NCP chief Sharad Pawar will meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at 7, RCR later this evening. The meeting assumes significance following conciliatory statements by the PM and NCP's Praful Patel earlier today. Prime Minister Singh said talks were on with NCP, while Sonia Gandhi declined to comment on the issue. Patel said his party has not issued any ultimatum to the Congress.
