Ministerial panel to finalize spectrum price today - NewsX

The ministerial panel on spectrum is expected to finalize on Friday its much-awaited recommendations on spectrum reserve price and usage charges amid indications that it may be leaning towards the telecom regulator's suggestion for pegging the floor at over Rs 18,000 crore. Although there have been suggestions for a higher reserve price from telecom department, the empowered group of ministers (EGoM) headed by P Chidambaram is trying to strike a balance between government's need for revenues and interests of consumers and companies.
