Muslim cleric Mehmood Madani defends Narendra Modi, says 'Nothing wrong in not wearing skull cap'
Muslim cleric Maulana Mehmood Madani on Monday backed BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi, who has been facing flak for not wearing a Namaz topi (skull cap). Madani said, "There's nothing wrong in not wearing a skull cap. If you ask me to put a tilak, I won't agree, not at all. But that doesn't make me a bad person, does it?"

He added that the people who wear caps in front of the cameras fool Muslims. "I request such politicians not to make a fool of us," asserted the Muslim cleric, adding, "It's unfortunate that the symbolic acts have been prioritized by us. While real issues have been sidetracked."
