President hopeful PA Sangma today met TMC founder Manata Banerjee and Railway Minister Mukul Roy to garner support for his candidature for the Presidential polls. Sangma's meeting with Mamata Banerjee at the Writers' Building is crucial since the Trinamool Congress chief had earlier refused to meet him. She has so far not revealed whether she will support opposition presidential candidate Sangma against UPA nominee Pranab Mukherjee. It was earlier reported that the West Bengal leader has asked her party MPs to abstain from voting on July 19 (presidential election) to highlight her opposition to the Congress candidate.
