There's a new audacious twist to our politicians seeking more perks and freebies. The politicians in Uttar Pradesh (UP) want better facilities for MLAs and MPs lodged in jail on criminal charges. They have asked the new Samajwadi Party government in the state to amend the jail manual in order to provide `required respect and services' to public representatives lodged in jail arrested on charges of criminal activities. The law makers have also demanded that MP and MLAs should be put in the jail of their constituency.. There's a curious unananimity on the issue across party lines too.
