Modi shadow over BJP's meet, grabs position of power - NewsX

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi stood out among all the leaders at the BJP's national executive meeting as the party eyed the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Modi's arrival at the YB Chavan Centre in Nariman Point saw BJP workers jostling with the media to get close to him. On the stage too, Modi sat next to the party president Nitin Gadkari. Senior leaders such as Mr L.K Advani and Ms Sushma Swaraj chose not to attend the public rally. It seems like this is the first visual sign of the transition from the Vajpayee-Advani power centre to the Modi-Gadkari new generation power centre in the BJP.
