The Karnataka officer SP Mahantesh who was attacked last week by some unknown persons passes away in mallige hospital at 7 am today in Bangalore. He was the deputy director of dept of cooperative audit and is said to have been probing site allocations. Mahantesh was returning home in his car on May 15, when he was reportedly dargged out of the car and attacked by unknown miscreants, with iron rods. He was found unconscious near a hotel, before being shifted to a hospital with severe injuries.
