Congress plans to field Digvijaya against Modi in Varanasi

The Congress's Central Election Committee is expected to meet on Thursday and come out with its fourth list for the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress is considering fielding Digvijaya Singh against Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from Varanasi.
Digvijaya Singh has already told Congress that he is ready to contest against Modi. However, the fourth list may not have a decision on the Varanasi seat.
The BSP, meanwhile, is planning to field a strong contestant from the Varanasi seat. Its Brahmin face Satish Chandra Mishra is likely to fight Modi in the constituency in a bid to break away the BJP's upper caste vote.
