SC has asked centre to give them the service record pertaining to Lt Gen Bikram Singh' appointment which was put in front of the cabinet Committee. The Supreme Court today heard a PIL questioning the government's decision to appoint Lt Gen Bikram Singh as the successor to General VK Singh. The government had filed a caveat in the PIL to stop the appointment of Lt General Bikram Singh as the next Army chief. The PIL has cited many pending cases against the Lt Gen and sought the apex court's intervention to block Singh's appointment. The Centre's move would ensure that the PIL petitioners don't get any ex-parte orders in the case.
