Parliamentary standing committee summons military chiefs - NewsX

In a rare break from convention, the Parliamentary standing committee on defence has summoned the 3 service chiefs on April 20 to seek their views on the state of defence preparedness.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence deciding to call the three service Chiefs comes in the backdrop of the controversial letter from Army Chief General V K Singh to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wherein he pointed out the sad state of the armed forces.It is said to be the first time that the defence committee has called all three chiefs. In the past the vice chiefs have represented the services before the standing committee.
