India News : BJP stands by Narendra Modi, calls DG Vanzara frustrated
  • 5 years ago
India News : Ahmedabad: A day after top Gujarat IPS officer DG Vanzara quit from his position and accused the state government of having failed to protect the interest of policemen jailed for encounter deaths, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continued to back Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

While resigning, Vanzara claimed in a 10-page letter that the CM has been shielding Amit Shah, a close aide and former state home minister, at the cost of police officers who fought against "Pakistan inspired terrorism".

As reported by a news channel, Gujarat BJP spokesperson Jai Narayan Vyas today said that Vanzara's resignation doesn't matter as he was already under suspension. Vyas added that it was Vanzara's anger and frustration that had forced him to level such allegations.
