Pune: Actor and former BJP MP Hema Malini on Wednesday said women should not step out of the house alone to avoid being assaulted. She was speaking after being asked to comment on the Mumbai gangrape case. The actress said the police and governments should do more to prevent attacks on women, but also urged women to be more responsible and alert. "Terrible things are happening.
Places like the Shakti Mill compound should not be so accessible that they can be used by anyone to create mischief. This is a lesson, but it should not have come at the cost of a girl's honour.
