DGCA summons Mallya; flying licence may be cancelled- NewsX

Kingfisher Airlines faces the prospects of its flying licence being cancelled. The DGCA has asked Kingfisher chairman Vijay Mallya to present a clear picture of the cash-strapped private carrier. The DGCA is mulled tough action after the airline submitted it's summer flight schedule with just 16 aircraft as against 28 last month. DGCA has also taken notice of Kingfisher's paucity of funds to run daily operations. The beleaguered airline was served a show cause notice last month, asking why its licence should not be suspended for making unannounced cancellations. The 15-day mandatory notice period has already lapsed and they have failed to give a valid reason.
