Final phase of polls in UP, Goa-NewsX

It's the last day of polling in the ongoing election season. North Uttar Pradesh votes in the final of the 7-phase poll process in the state. It is the last of the 7-phase polls in U.P today, with 60 seats spread over 10 districts going to polls. The final phase would cover Bijnore, Moradabad, Bheem Nagar, Rampur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri. The size of the electorate is about 1.82 crores. 962 candidates are in the fray, with the BSP, SP and BJP contesting all the 60 seats. Down west, the picturesque state of Goa votes in the single phase Assembly elections. Polling will also be held today for all 40 assembly seats in Goa. Over a million voters will decide the fate of 215 candidates in fray.
